Begin your journey from Marina Piccola, the main harbor of Sorrento. As you leave the port, admire the cliffside hotels and historic buildings. Pass by Bagni della Regina Giovanna, an ancient Roman villa with a natural seawater pool. As you continue, enjoy panoramic views of Mount Vesuvius and the bay of Naples. You’ll arrive to Punta Campanella, the final point of the Sorrento Peninsula. Across the water, Capri’s famous Faraglioni rocks are visible in the distance. It’s the beginning of the Amalfi coast: you’ll see Li Galli islands, a marine reserve, and Tordigliano beach, accessible only by boat. As you approach Positano, admire its pastel-colored houses cascading down the cliffs. You’ll pass the Saracen watchtowers, built to defend against pirate invasions. Before reaching Amalfi, you’ll pass Conca Dei marini, another fishing village with traditional houses overlooking the sea. Once in Amalfi, the ancient marine republic, have some free time there and if you wish, visit the ancient Byzantine cathedral of S.Andrea.
