Antiparos

Antiparos sits 1 kilometre southwest of Paros, a small Cycladic island connected to its larger sister only by a 5-minute car ferry across a shallow channel — a channel that doubles as a long protected anchorage, popular with sailing yachts because it offers shelter from the meltemi summer wind in both directions. The single village of Chora wraps around a Venetian castle and three town squares lined with tavernas. The famous Cave of Antiparos, in the south, holds stalactites up to 8 metres long. The white-sand beach at Soros on the east coast has shallow turquoise water for 200 metres offshore. Antiparos is 15 minutes from Paros and 90 minutes from Naxos. Season runs May through October.
