Alaçatı
Alaçatı is the stone-walled boutique town just south of Çeşme — a former Greek village rebuilt as Turkey's chic Aegean retreat, with cobbled lanes, restored 19th-century houses, and one restaurant per minute of walking. The town's coastal bay is a separate world: a wide shallow lagoon where the meltem channels through and creates the most consistent windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions in the country — over 300 windy days a year. Boats can anchor in the outer harbour and dinghy in, or sail east to Çeşme Marina for an overnight. The village holds night-market alleys, a Saturday produce market, and a renowned bread museum. Alaçatı is 10 km from Çeşme by road. Season runs May through October.
Recommended duration: ideal for 2 days
