Saint-Raphaël

Saint-Raphaël sits on the western end of the French Riviera, between Cannes and Saint-Tropez, at the foot of the Massif de l'Estérel — a chain of red porphyry mountains that drop straight into the sea along a 30-kilometre coast of dramatic red-rock coves. The Vieux Port at Saint-Raphaël holds 1,600 berths across three marina basins, with the largest superyacht space at Santa Lucia. The neighbouring Fréjus Roman amphitheatre and aqueduct sit 3 kilometres inland. Day sails reach the empty Calanques de l'Estérel coves in 30 minutes east, with the small islet of Île d'Or (an unmistakable medieval-style tower built in 1912) at the centre. Saint-Raphaël is 60 minutes from Cannes by sail. Season runs April through October.
