Silhouette

Silhouette is the third-largest Seychelles island, 20 kilometres northwest of Mahé — a 20-square-kilometre granite mountain that rises to 740 metres at Mont Dauban, with the highest forested mountain interior in the inner Seychelles. The whole island is a Silhouette National Park with no road network, only footpaths between the small settlements; reaching the inland forest requires a guided hike. The island holds 2,000 species of plants, 6 of them endemic, and is the only Seychelles inner-island habitat of the Seychelles sheath-tailed bat. The single development is the Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort on the east coast at La Passe, the only village. Charter yachts anchor offshore at La Passe in 8-15 metres of sand. Silhouette is 90 minutes from Mahé. Season runs year-round.
