Begin your journey from Marina Piccola, the main harbor of Sorrento. As you leave the port, admire the cliffside hotels and historic buildings. Pass by Bagni della Regina Giovanna, an ancient Roman villa with a natural seawater pool. As you continue, enjoy panoramic views of Mount Vesuvius and the bay of Naples. You’ll arrive to Punta Campanella, the final point of the Sorrento Peninsula. Across the water, Capri’s famous Faraglioni rocks are visible in the distance. It’s the beginning of the Amalfi coast: you’ll see Li Galli islands, a marine reserve, and Tordigliano beach, accessible only by boat. As you approach Positano, admire its pastel-colored houses cascading down the cliffs. You’ll pass the Saracen watchtowers, built to defend against pirate invasions. Dock at Positano and have free time to explore. You will then continue to Praiano, a charming fishing village. Cala della Gavitella is one of the few beaches that gets sunlight all day long. You’ll see Furore Fjord, a dramatic fjord where a river has carved a deep canyon into the cliffs. Before reaching Amalfi, you’ll pass Conca Dei marini, another fishing village with traditional houses overlooking the sea. Once in Amalfi, the ancient marine republic, have some free time there and if you wish, visit the ancient Byzantine cathedral of S.Andrea. You’ll have several stops for swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear waters and if you wish, you can have lunch at one of the seaside restaurants along the coast.
