Ayayorgi Koyu

Ayayorgi Koyu (from Greek Agios Georgios, \"Saint George\") sits on the Çeşme peninsula on Turkey's Aegean coast, west of Izmir. The cove takes its name from a small Greek Orthodox chapel that once stood on the headland above the bay — a remnant of the Greek population that left the area in the 1923 population exchange. The bay cuts 400 metres inland with depths of 6-12 metres over sand and weed, and is one of the standard day-sail stops on the Çeşme circuit. A beach club operates seasonally on the south shore with a small chiringuito-style restaurant and platforms cut into the rocks. Ayayorgi Koyu is 30 minutes from Çeşme and 90 minutes from Alaçatı by sail. Season runs May through October.

Bademlik Koyu

Bademlik Koyu (\"Almond Grove Cove\") is a small sheltered anchorage on the Datça peninsula side of the Hisarönü Gulf, between Bozburun and the open Aegean. The cove cuts inland about 300 metres into a wooded shore of carob and almond trees — the namesake — and the seabed reaches 8-12 metres of sand and weed, with good holding for overnight stops. The surrounding hills have no road access, and the only land approach is by hiking trail from the village of Selimiye. Yachts use Bademlik Koyu either as a day stop on the Marmaris-Datça route or as a quieter overnight than the more popular Bozburun harbour 20 minutes south. Bademlik Koyu is 4 hours from Marmaris and 5 hours from Datça by sail. Season runs May through October.

Dalyan Yat Limanı

Dalyan Yat Limanı sits at the mouth of the Dalyan River in Muğla, on the coast between Marmaris and Fethiye. The marina serves as the south access point for the Dalyan delta — a 14-kilometre river that snakes through reed channels to İztuzu beach, the protected nesting site of Caretta caretta loggerhead turtles, which lay eggs on the 4-kilometre sand spit between May and September. Above the village, the rock-cut Lycian tombs of Kaunos face the river from a cliff dating to the 4th century BC. Yachts based at the marina day-sail the outer coast or take river boats up to the tombs and the mud baths at Sultaniye. Dalyan Yat Limanı is 3 hours from Göcek and 4 hours from Marmaris by sail. Season runs May through October.
