Domuz Island

Domuz Island is one of the smallest of Gocek's Twelve Islands — uninhabited, with rocky shore and a few wild olive trees. The classic anchorage is in the channel between the island and the mainland, where the water stays still in 8-12 metres and the sandy bottom holds the anchor securely. Snorkelling along the islet's edges reveals octopus and small fish in clear water. There's no infrastructure on the island or the facing mainland; the only sounds are cicadas and the occasional fishing boat. Domuz is 45 minutes from Gocek by sail. Season runs May through October.
