Šibenik-Knin is the central Dalmatian region around the medieval port of Šibenik. The Old Town of Šibenik climbs from a sheltered river-mouth harbour up the slope to the UNESCO-listed 15th-century Cathedral of Saint James, built entirely of stone with no mortar or wooden ribs. The county hosts the largest concentration of national parks in Croatia: the Kornati Islands (140 islands, 30 minutes offshore by sail), the inland Krka National Park waterfalls (60 minutes upriver), and the Telašćica nature park on Dugi Otok. The main charter base is Marina Mandalina (300 berths plus megayacht infrastructure), with smaller marinas at Skradin and Tribunj. Šibenik-Knin is 2 hours from Zadar north and 90 minutes from Split south. Season runs April through October.
