Halkidiki (Greek Chalkidiki) is a 2,945-square-kilometre peninsula in Central Macedonia, Northern Greece, extending south from Thessaloniki into the Aegean — geographically distinctive for its three parallel southward-pointing finger-shaped sub-peninsulas (\"legs\"), each separated by a sheltered gulf. The main charter base is the Porto Carras marina on Sithonia's west coast. Halkidiki is 4 hours from Thessaloniki by sail. Season runs May through September; meltemi peak July-August.
