Doğanbey
Doğanbey sits inside Dilek Peninsula National Park — a 27,000-hectare reserve protecting the mountainous coast between Kuşadası and the Bay of Söke. Most of the coastline is roadless and uninhabited, with steep cliffs dropping into clear water and a population of Mediterranean monk seals, one of the world's most endangered marine mammals. The village itself is a single street of restored Greek stone houses on a hillside, with one taverna and a herb shop. From the anchorage, footpaths lead inland to caves and forest trails. Doğanbey faces the Greek island of Samos, a 2-hour cross-water sail. Season runs May through October.
Recommended duration: ideal for 1 days
