Dodecanese Islands

The Dodecanese (\"twelve islands\" — actually 15 inhabited islands plus 150 islets) form the southeast Aegean archipelago along Turkey's southwest coast, the easternmost Greek islands. The chain runs 180 kilometres north-south, with Rhodes at the south end (medieval Old Town walls, Mandraki harbour) and Patmos at the north (Monastery of Saint John, Cave of the Apocalypse). The standard 7-day charter route hops between Symi (neoclassical harbour town), Kos (Hippocrates' birthplace and Mastichari beaches), Kalymnos (sponge-diving tradition), Leros (sheltered Italian-era harbour), and the small islet Lipsi. Charter bases are at Rhodes (Mandraki Marina) and Kos (Kos Marina, 250 berths). Season runs April through October.

Recommended duration: ideal for 1 days
