Istanbul is the only city that straddles two continents — Europe and Asia, separated by the 30-kilometre Bosphorus Strait that connects the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea. The city's yacht marinas are clustered on the European Marmara coast: Ataköy Marina (708 berths), the larger Yalova Setur Marina, and the smaller harbours at Kuruçeşme and Bebek on the strait itself. Charter routes follow the Bosphorus past the 19th-century Dolmabahçe Palace, the Ottoman Rumeli Hisarı fortress, the Beylerbeyi Palace on the Asian shore, and the wooden Ottoman yalı waterfront mansions. South of the city, the Princes' Islands archipelago (Büyükada, Heybeliada, Burgazada) is 90 minutes by sail. Istanbul is the only Turkish charter base outside the south Aegean–Mediterranean cluster. Season runs April through November.
