Seychelles

The Seychelles is the only granite archipelago in the open ocean — 115 islands scattered across the Indian Ocean, half of them granite outcrops, the other half flat coral atolls. The inner sailing circuit links Mahé, Praslin, La Digue, and the protected reserves of Curieuse, Aride, and Cousin within a one-week loop. La Digue's Anse Source d'Argent is the most photographed beach in the world for a reason — pink granite boulders, shallow turquoise water, no road access. Sea turtles nest on protected beaches, whale sharks pass through in season, and giant tortoises wander free on Curieuse. The food is Creole and fresh — grilled red snapper, octopus curry, breadfruit chips. The season runs April through October for the calmest seas; November-March bring warmer water but more rain.
